FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrical engineering and can be used in frequency changers to control induction motors. Method for controlling variable-frequency electric drive allows to reduce the run-down time of the motor rotor when the frequency reference and starting of the induction motor are changed, switch to stall condition without field killing of the motor and thereby significantly increase the speed of variable-frequency electric drive. Energy of generation, selected in the mode of negative slid (S <0) of induction motor, used to brake the motor, which allows to reduces the cost of variable-frequency electric drive due to the lack of brake chopper units and brake resistors.
EFFECT: technical result is the elimination of speed control, increasing the reliability and efficiency of the electric drive in the braking condition.
