FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to machine building, more specifically to couplings with a protecting element for disconnection. A mechanical protecting device contains a transmission shaft (1), having the main axis of rotation (X) and an element (2), destructed under the action of torsional overload. The mechanical protecting device additionally contains a movable element (3) secured to the transmission shaft (1) with a possibility of rotation around the main axis (X) and suitable for movement radially outside relatively to the main axis (X) from the first position to the second position; a spring (4) pushing the movable element (3) towards the first position; and a tangential stop (8) suitable to stop the rotation of the movable element (3) around the main axis (X), when the movable element (3) is in the second position. The movable element (3) and spring (4) are calibrated such that with a set start angular speed the movable element (3) moves from the first position to the second position under the centrifugal force exceeding the spring pre-tension (4).
EFFECT: expanded operating performances.
