FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to child neurology, and refers to treating epilepsy with continued spike wave activity during sleep. That is ensured by pulse-methyl-prednisolone therapy intravenously or intramuscularly in dose of 20-30 mg/kg/day. Preparation is introduced for three days running once a month for 6 months. Patients having at least one pathology from list including: hemiparesis, tetraparesis, ataxia, dysarthria, cognitive disorder regression development, after said course of pulse therapy for one month are further administered orally methylprednisolone in dose of 2 mg/kg/day with reduction of dose of 0.5 mg/kg/day every next month until cancellation of preparation.
EFFECT: method provides faster clinical encephalographic remission, reduced rate of undesirable effects, reduced risk of disease relapse due to introduction of methylprednisolone in high doses by short courses, as well as improved prognosis neuro-cognitive development of patients with severe clinical course.
