FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to spectrometer measurements of content of iodine-129 in soil samples with a beta-x matches, and is intended to improve efficiency of detecting x-ray and beta radiation from radioactive iodine-129 preparation arranged in cell disc-like shape with liquid scintillator. Flask casing is made of two plates with flat rims made of elastic thin-walled polypropylene film with thickness of 0.1 mm. Flat rims of plates are tightly welded to each other by using manual pulse welder so that in end, on top of the cuvette is obtained octagonal figure formed by lines of welding. At base of flat rim of cuvette sealed inlet-outlet hole is pierced for filling in cell and removal from solution of liquid scintillator with preparation of iodine-129.
EFFECT: technical result is cuvette maintaining its shape after dropping, resistance to aggressive medium liquid scintillator, easy manufacture, as well as ensuring highly efficient detection of iodine-129 decay due to low soft x-ray absorption and beta-radiation in thin walls of the cuvette and in liquid scintillator.
