FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medical devices, particularly to stents and prostheses, and concerns a stent coated with electrospun polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), and a method for its application. Forming by coating a frame of a single continuous wire with a polymer coating. Polymer coating can consist of layers of electrospun PTFE. Electrospun PTFE with certain permeability can allow endothelial cells to grow inside prosthesis. Stent can be used for stents designed for central venous system, for peripheral vessels, for abdominal aortic aneurysm, bronchial stents, oesophageal, biliary or any other stents.
EFFECT: invention enables to create a stent, which generate an endothelial layer on inner surface of stent and provides biocompatibility, leading to less injury at point of application and to reduced side effects.
