FIELD: transport.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to railway vehicle disc brakes. Gripper braking device comprises a brake pad adapted for advancement and retraction relative to housing of gripper braking device, and to apply a frictional force by sliding contact with disc. Device also comprises a locking pin holding a guide plate, a piston is arranged to advance/retract relative to housing of gripper braking device and pressed against brake pad via a guide plate, a diaphragm adjacent to back surface of piston to form a pressure chamber within housing of gripper braking device and elastically deforming under compressed air pressure in pressure chamber with provision of movement of piston and piston plate, piston for retaining locking pin ensuring possibility of free sliding of piston. Piston comprises a plurality of heat-insulating components with distal ends protruding in direction of guide plate.
EFFECT: improved thermal insulation is achieved.
