FIELD: metal processing.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for nondestructive inspection of quality of weld seams using acoustic emission method. Invention consists in fact that acoustic apparatus for detecting and locating defects in weld seams includes measuring channel including mounted at safe distance from weld converter of acoustic signals, first preamplifier, bandpass filter, as well as first analogue-to-digital converter, real-time memorisation of acoustic signals and computer with monitor to display output data, at that it is equipped with switch, connected between output of converter of acoustic signals and input of first preliminary amplifier first amplitude discriminator connected to output of first analogue-to-digital converter, input is connected to output of band-pass filter whose input is connected to output of first preliminary amplifier, second amplitude discriminator, wherein outputs of first amplitude sampler are connected to corresponding inputs of prompt memorization of acoustic signals and second amplitude discriminator, recording unit of reference signals whose input is connected to output of second amplitude discriminator, a unit for calculating standardised cross correlation functions and their maximum values.
EFFECT: technical result is higher noise immunity of device and possibility of one-sided access using single converter of acoustic emission signals at stage of data collection and two transducers at stage of determining location of defects.
