FIELD: methods of metal processing.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for detection of defects in welded seams during welding. Essence of the invention consists in the fact that the device for detecting defects in welded seams during welding comprises a measuring channel, comprising an acoustic emission (AE) converter installed near the weld, series-connected to its output a preamplifier, a band-pass filter, as well as an analogue-to-digital converter, an amplitude discriminator, a unit for rapid memorizing of acoustic signals, a unit for calculating mutual correlation functions, filtration unit by level of correlation coefficient, unit for calculating integral energy parameters by separate groups, deflection level discriminator and computer with display monitor of output data, wherein device is equipped with in-series connected to amplitude discriminator unit of optimal duration signal generation and unit of reference signals selection, first input of which is connected to output of optimum duration signal generating unit, second input is connected to output of filtration unit by correlation coefficient level, and outputs are connected to corresponding inputs of correlation functions calculation unit, wherein said output of acoustic signal storage unit is connected to input of integral power parameters calculation unit by separate groups.

EFFECT: technical result is high noise-immunity of the device and high reliability of detecting defects in conditions of non-stationarity of waveguide properties of the controlled sample while maintaining the possibility of detecting defects with only one receiver of AE signals.
