FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to technology of extracting scandium from different types of raw material and technogenic wastes and can be used for selective extraction of scandium from aluminium production wastes (red sludges), titanium (waste melts), titanium dioxide (hydrolysis sulphuric acid or hydrochloric acid solution), zirconium, tin, tungsten, uranium. Method of producing scandium oxide from scandium-containing concentrates involves sorption of scandium from solution of ion-exchange sorbents, washing and separation of sorbent sorption from pulp, conversion of sorbent. Scandium is desorbed with carbonate solutions, washing sorbent of desorbing solution, further processing solutions desorption to obtain scandium concentrates. Sorbent for sorption of scandium used is phosphorus-containing resins. Sorption process is carried out continuously in counterflow conditions in a pulp-sorbent and pulp pH control in range 1.5-2.0 via introduction of concentrated sulphuric acid.
EFFECT: high degree of extraction of scandium from scandium-bearing material.
