FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: extraction of beryllium by ion exchange includes crushing beryllium-bearing ore, sulphation, leaching and separating pulp. Beryllium is extracted by sorption directly from sulphuric pulp of fusion cake of beryllium and phenacite-bertrandite concentrates with particle size of up to 0.16 mm in counterflow conditions at temperature 20-50°C and pH 3-5. The sorbents used are phosphorus-containing cationites in ammonium form. The cationite desorption process is carried out in two steps: at the first step - with ammonium carbonate solution, at the second step with ammonium fluoride solution to obtain ammonium fluoroberyllate. Impurities are removed from the carbonate solution and beryllium hydroxide is obtained.
EFFECT: invention increases extraction of beryllium into the finished product and improves sanitary conditions during production.
