FIELD: mechanical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention may be used for punching holes in body parts, in particular in surfacing for installation of parking sensors or headlamp washers therein. Body part is placed in the working position, while a punch is kept over a distance at a standstill. At first, the punch is moved for doing the first stroke in the direction of the working position, in order to locate it near the part. Next, the punch is moved with a mover to punch the part. Punch movement for the second stroke is performed at the rate not exceeding 10 mm/sec and less than the rate of the punch movement for the first stroke. Punch actuating cylinder coupled with a force reduction mechanism is used for the second punch stroke. Punch actuating cylinder is isolated from the mover.
EFFECT: possibility to obtain high quality holes using a standard actuating cylinder for the punch movement.
