SUBSTANCE: invention relates to image capturing devices and control methods therefor. Disclosed is an image capturing device with a lens unit which can be connected to and disconnected from the said device. The image capturing device is configured to perform an optical correction function for correcting the effect caused by the optical properties of the lens unit used during capture on the captured image via image processing using an optical correction value. The device comprises means of obtaining optical parameters and means of correcting a captured image. The correction means corrects the captured image based on the optical properties of the connected lens unit by applying image processing using the optical correction value to the captured image.
