FIELD: ophthalmology.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a method for assessment of the rotational stability of toric contact lenses on the eye and, more specifically, to a method that allows contact lens users to photograph their own eyes using an electronic device with a camera with a macro lens and an individual eye device manufactured by three-dimensional printing. A method is proposed that allows contact lens users to photograph their own eyes using an electronic device with a camera, such as an iPhone, with a macro lens, such as Olloclip® Macro Pro Lens Set 7x lens, and an individual eye device manufactured by three-dimensional printing. The eye device is designed to position the camera at a proper and reproducible distance from the eye so that the system ensures proper focusing on lens details. The eye device also serves to cut off stray light and scatter external light. In addition, the eye device ensures that the camera is held in the correct position during shooting. The resulting photos are analyzed using image processing software to determine a rotation angle of a contact lens.
EFFECT: invention provides a qualitative assessment of the rotational stability of toric contact lenses on the eye.
