FIELD: electronic equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to traffic control, namely to methods of automatic control of traffic lights on controlled crossing. Method for automatic control of traffic lights on controlled crossing involves determining intensity of traffic streams in each direction crossing by counting number of vehicles during polling period on each lane. On each of these lanes are installed sensors for counting number of vehicles passing towards controlled crossing, one main is in plane of "Stop" line, and other are additional. In each of these sensors polling periods, number of vehicles on each lane is determined. Finding maximum value for each phase of traffic lights, multiplied by average time of passage of crossing by one vehicle. Time is determined for each phase. Sum of these times is added with time required for transition of pedestrians. Obtaining is value of next period of time of request and phases of traffic lights in same time period.
EFFECT: determination of total number of vehicles travelling along controlled route for any period of time, as well as increased throughput capacity of crossroad.
