FIELD: metallurgy; technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for prediction of quality parameters of processed surface. Method involves formation of polyharmonic exciting action at inlet of metal processing machine by interaction of machine tool in form of grinding wheel or disk cutter with billet surface in form of plate with grooves of rectangular profile during its processing with given parameters. At that, exposure amplitude and frequency at inlet of machine and change of amplitude and frequency of its output signal are recorded, as which blank profile record obtained after processing is used. Dynamic model parameters are defined by ratios of amplitudes of output signal and exciting action.
EFFECT: using invention allows reducing labour intensity and duration of identification process.
