FIELD: food industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to method and device for checking eggs, particularly for determining characteristics of egg shell. Method includes arrangement of the eggs which should be checked, deformation of a part of such egg with deforming device at least once, at least measuring the time of deforming contact and defining hardness of the membrane and/or the strength of the egg shell. Device for checking eggs comprises a deforming device, a detection device for at least defining time of deforming contact, and a central processing unit for defining hardness of the membrane and/or the strength of the egg shell using the specified time deforming contact.
EFFECT: invention allows to determine quality parameters of strength and/or hardness for a big batch of eggs within a relatively short time.
