SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to poultry farming and can be used for sorting chicken eggs at poultry farms. To this end, a non-destructive method for determining resistance to cracking of an intact egg is used. Determination includes the following steps: a) determining tensile stress developed in an eggshell of said intact egg, for example tensile stress at a predetermined load, and b) determining elasticity of said eggshell. To estimate the resistance to cracking of an intact egg, the ratio of tensile stress to the elasticity of the eggshell is used.
EFFECT: group of inventions provides optimal criteria for determining the quality of the eggshell when selecting intact chicken eggs.
