FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: disclosed is ball lock. It comprises balls arranged in radial holes of side surface of rod, binding between conical surface of fixed stop with cone generatrix made at angle greater than angle of sliding friction, maximum possible for materials of which there are support and balls, and conical surface of spring-loaded movable slide valve. In order to simplify design and reliable fixation of lock at minimum force on its opening, cone generatrix inclination of spool is larger than angle of rolling friction, but less than friction angle. Also disclosed is method for selection of geometrical parameters and power characteristics of ball lock.
EFFECT: method consists in setting surface inclination angle of cone surface of thrust force acting on closing lock are determined for number of cone generatrix inclination angle values of spool valve, including value, wherein there is self-opening of lock occurs, forces corresponding to these values of force to lock opening, after which friction angle in joint, and from series of these forces on opening lock is selected and corresponding cone generatrix inclination of spool.
