SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, optometric diagnosis and concerns determining contrast sensitivity in patients with cerebral dysfunctions, can be used in early diagnosis of degenerative brain injuries. Testing is performed for one or two eyes in area of photopia on a standard monitor with help of computer program with an interface which enables to generate in standard RGB on a monitor optical stimuli in form of figures, letters or digits and background with contrast grey R = G = B with gradations of each colour component from 0 to 255. Parameters for evaluation of contrast sensitivity of value and error region of contrast sensitivity and test run.

EFFECT: method provides simple, objective, fast and reliable diagnosis of pathology in patients with cerebral dysfunctions.
