FIELD: measuring equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used when measuring height of cloud cover. For this purpose, according to version 1 navigation measurements of spacecraft orbit are conducted. Selected edge point visible from spacecraft (SC) on background of Earth's surface of the cloud cover is surveyed from SC in points distanced from each other at specified time. Based on obtained images coordinates of points of Earth's surface are determined, lying on lines of sight of selected cloud cover edge point. Based on navigation measurements coordinates of points of SC location at moments of taking of images are determined. According to version 2 coordinates of points of the Earth's surface are obtained based on images are determined, lying on lines of sight of selected cloud cover edge point.
EFFECT: higher operational efficiency.
