FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: method includes solid metal scrap charge loading in the furnace, delivery to the furnace of fuel and oxidant enriched with oxygen, fuel burning with the oxidant to generate heat inside the furnace, melting of the solid metal scrap charge in the furnace by heat, release of the molten metal from the furnace. After the solid metal scrap charge loading in the furnace the fuel is burnt with the oxidant to form one or more visible flame flares in the furnace above the charge, and prior to the molten metal release from the furnace the fuel is burnt with the oxidant ensuring the generation of the flame-free burning in the furnace above the molten metal.
EFFECT: increased capacity of metal scrap processing, and the degree of metal extraction from it.
