FIELD: communications.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to wireless communication. Limited node is configured to receive data only within limited reception opportunities. Method of configuring limited node comprises steps of: (a) detecting that an update of a network configuration parameter value for limited node is required; (b) deciding on whether to change a limited node behaviour from a first behaviour based at least partly on communication characteristics of limited node, said change of behaviour including increasing reception opportunity at limited node; (c) depending on decision at step (b), triggering delivery of a request of behaviour change to limited node during a first reception opportunity of limited node (d) triggering delivery of updated network configuration parameter value to limited node during a second reception opportunity of limited node.
EFFECT: technical result consists in providing possibility to dynamically set parameters of a network containing limited nodes.
