FIELD: instrument making.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a ZigBee network comprising ZigBee Green Power (ZGP)-capable devices and non-ZGP-capable devices. Method for operating devices in a ZigBee network ZigBee Green Power (ZGP)-capable devices and non-ZGP-capable devices, both under control of at least one ZGPD-device, comprising steps of: ZGPD device transmitting ZGPD command frame, upon reception of a ZGPD command frame from said ZGPD device, ZGP-capable device: translating received ZGPD command to a regular ZigBee command compatible with non-ZGP-capable devices, and forwarding translated command, and tunnelling ZGPD command using ZGP tunnelling mechanism, ZGP-capable devices controlled by ZGPD device executing only tunnelled command, if controlled application functionality is supported, non-ZGP-capable devices controlled by ZGPD device executing only translated command, if controlled application functionality is supported.
EFFECT: efficient control of devices in a ZigBee network.
