METHOD OF MONITORING TECHNICAL STATE OF UNDERGROUND PIPELINES FROM RESIDUAL MAGNETIC FIELD Russian patent published in 2016 - IPC G01N27/83

Abstract RU 2584729 C1

FIELD: measuring equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to measurement equipment and provides a method for monitoring technical condition of underground steel gas and oil pipelines. In method examined pipeline is magnetised by means of constant magnetic field source arranged inside pipeline to value of residual magnetisation of 0.1-0.8 saturation field. Measurement of three mutually perpendicular components of magnetic field induction at least at one point along generatrix inside pipeline are produced immediately after magnetisation, and then with periodicity of 1-4 times a year with help of ferroprobe or magnetic field of magnetoresistive sensors. By comparing said results, making a conclusion on development of corrosion disorders and states of stress, predicting technical condition of pipeline at a given time and its service life.

EFFECT: technical result consists in detection of defects and stressed state of pipeline to determine weak place of pipeline and prevent its destruction.
