SUBSTANCE: apparatus for electric current breaking consists of case (1), fixed contact (21), sliding carriage (3), bearing movable contact (22), activation means (5) for carriage movement when movable contact near fixed contact and retention device (6) for temporary retention of carriage position, in which fixed and movable contacts are separated from each other, while the activation unit compresses spring at its free carriage and enable mutual compression of fixed and movable contacts. Retainer comprises arm (61) and latch (62), pivotally mounted on carriage (3). Latch interacts with arm (61) to hold carriage during spring compression and subjected to turn it, which enables to move from shoulder, as soon as spring is sufficiently is compressed.
EFFECT: technical result is simple, reliable and reproducible operation of retaining contacts in position when they are separated from each other.
