SUBSTANCE: novel in method of measuring range is generation of two continuous high-frequency oscillations, which frequencies are known, emission of these oscillations through one antenna, receiving of these oscillations, shift onto same frequency, conditionally called Doppler frequency, re-emission, secondary reception and selection in each channel of matching component with such Doppler frequency, with subsequent measurement of phase difference of these combination components. At that, measured phase difference is proportional to distance. Generation of two continuous high-frequency oscillations with subsequent shift of both oscillations at same Doppler frequency with selection of combination of components increases accuracy of phase measurements range due to elimination of processing channels and transmission of high-frequency oscillations multipliers and frequency dividers, as well as rings of phase automatic frequency control, inserting corresponding components of measurement error. Arising when measuring range to moving objects Doppler frequency shift of natural origin does not influence on measurement accuracy, since this frequency shift is identical for both channels.
EFFECT: method can be used, for example, in geodesy, when controlling movement of mobile objects.
