FIELD: radio engineering.

SUBSTANCE: method of increasing range and increasing the accuracy of measuring distance of a radio frequency identification and positioning system can be used, e.g., for identification at controlling mobile objects movement. Novel in the method of measuring range is the use in the measuring station of two antennae of circular polarization operating one for radiation and the other one - for reception. Herewith the circulator, which separates the radiated and the received signals is excluded from the measuring station. Spatial diversity of the measuring station antennas increases isolation between the receiving and the transmitting channels, that makes it possible to emit signals of increased power and additionally amplify the received signals. Range of the system operation is longer herewith. Rotation direction of the polarization plane of the receiving antenna of the measuring station is selected opposite to rotation direction of the wave polarization plane reflected from the transverse scattering area of the object, on which a transponder is installed, which provides suppression of this interfering signal and increasing, thus, the accuracy of determining distance.

EFFECT: besides, the use in the transponder of a linear polarization antenna allows to eliminate fadings of a signal arising during movement of the object and change in such a way the mutual orientation of the transponder and the measurement station antennae.
