SUBSTANCE: method of measuring distance from measuring station to relay can be used, for example, in geodesy, when controlling movement of mobile objects. Novel in method of measuring range is generation of two continuous highly stable low-frequency oscillations on measuring station and relay simultaneously, and generation at measurement station of high-frequency oscillations, which frequency is known, radiation of these oscillations through antenna, receiving at relay, shift to known low frequency, conditionally called Doppler frequency, generated by high-stable low-frequency generator, relay, secondary reception and separation of matching component with such Doppler frequency, with subsequent measurement of phase difference of such matching component and signal of local highly stable low-frequency generator. Thereafter value of high-frequency generator frequency is changed and low-frequency signals phase difference is measured again until phase difference of low-frequency signals is changed to 2π. At that, new value of frequency of high-frequency generator is fixed and range is calculated using obtained frequency difference of high-frequency generator. Successively in time generation of continuous various high-frequency oscillations with further shift to equal Doppler frequency with extraction of combination of components simplifies design of measuring device due to elimination of processing channels and transmission of second high-frequency generator, second directional coupler, high-frequency signal adder, second mixer, second selective amplifier-limiter.
EFFECT: accuracy of phase measurements of distance increases, and ambiguity of measurements is excluded.
