FIELD: radar.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to radar and can be used in radar stations to reduce losses of signal/noise ratio and for stabilising false alarm probability. Said result is achieved due to double-channel detection of radar signals according to which signal is simultaneously compressed in two channels, in compression filters which are used even and uneven weight function, respectively, in each channel is separated square envelope of compressed signal, then from readings of square of envelope of a sliding range window located symmetrically relative to tested for presence of targets range samples in formed sliding range windows are obtained evaluation of average power of correlation of noise of compressed signal, wherein main lobes of compressed signals are censored, that is, are excluded from range sliding windows, followed by calculating ratio of readings of square of envelope to estimated average power of correlation of noise. Decision on detection of target is made in case if at least in one of channels ratio of square of compressed signal envelope count in tested for presence of target range discrete to estimation of average power of correlation of noise of compressed signal exceeds detection threshold.

EFFECT: technical result is reduction of losses of signal/noise ratio when detecting weak signal partially overlapped with a stronger signal, with preservation of stabilising false alarm probability.
