FIELD: printing.
SUBSTANCE: invention substantially relates to electrophotographic printers. Invention also involves method of concentrating ink composition and device for concentration of ink composition. At that, said method comprises steps of: (a) providing ink composition, wherein composition of ink contains liquid carrier and particles containing resin and dye, and ink composition contains less than 0.3 mg charge carrier on g of solid substances in ink composition; (b) passing ink composition between rechargeable conveyor and first electrode, wherein potential is applied so that ink composition sticks to charged conveyor, wherein electric field between rechargeable conveyor and first electrode is equal to 2,000 V/mm or more; (c) passing ink composition on conveyor by moving surface, wherein ink stay in contact with moving surface, and between conveyor and moving surface potential is applied so that charged particles tend to move to conveyor, and part of liquid carrier is removed, increasing concentration of charged particles in liquid carrier on conveyor, with formation of concentrated ink on the conveyor, wherein conveyor and moving surface then diverge from each other and at least portion of concentrated ink remains on conveyor; and (d) removal of concentrated ink with conveyor and transfer them into storage tank. Proposed device for concentration of ink composition comprises revolving drum containing aluminium core, which has solid anodized surface coating, first electrode located near surface coating, roller with metal core with outer surface layer containing elastomeric material, wherein in absence of any composition ink roller elastomer material and solid anodized coating rotating drum are in contact.
EFFECT: provision of concentrated ink, whose composition includes small amount or does not contain charge carrier; with concentration of ink total weight of ink composition is reduced, which is necessary to convey, which leads to energy and costs saving.
