FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to chemistry of chlorinated hydrocarbons derivatives, namely to novel method for producing chlorinated higher fatty acids of general formula R(CHCl)nCOOH, where R is aliphatic hydrocarbon radical containing 9 to 22 carbon atoms, n = 1 to 4, which are important products of chemical industry. Method for producing chlorinated higher fatty acids is carried out by oxidising chlorinated paraffins in presence of cobalt-containing catalyst, which is mixed with chlorinated paraffin in presence of air oxygen, and oxidation is performed with atmospheric oxygen at temperature of 105-110 °C and atmospheric pressure. As catalyst cobalt hydroxystearate is used, and oxidation is carried out for 20 hours.
EFFECT: method allows increasing reaction rate and increasing output of products.
