FIELD: pipe.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for magnetic flaw detection. Invention consists in that magnetic flaw detection of pipeline is performed taking into account different magnetic properties of materials associated with use in construction of pipelines of various grades of steel and effect of magnetisation direction relative to direction of sheet. Accounting for different magnetic properties of materials is possible using in magnetic flaw detector a special sensor, signal of which is approximately proportional to relative differential permeability of pipeline material at point of magnetising field relative to direction of sheet. Information parameter “P” is introduced, which is approximately proportional to differential relative magnetic permeability material, as well as amplitude of scattering field of defect. Information parameter “P” is used as a correction to measured scattering fields in conditions when pipeline segments are made from materials with different magnetic properties.
EFFECT: technical result is reduced error in determining size of defects of pipeline.
