FIELD: physics; area of nondestructive testing.

SUBSTANCE: magnetic field converter comprising magnetizer, magnetic field sensors, main amplifiers, evaluators of field background, summator of field background with flaw fields, comparator, storage and processing units, generator of background signal level, first and second operation amplifiers, first and second potentiometers, control amplifier and analog-digital converter provides constant sensitivity of magnetic search system and continuous wide range of flaw depth registered with intratubal magnetic flaw detector for flaw detection of pipelines with pipe wall thickness various in different areas. At that modifications of signals particular sensors relative to field background value around pipe wall as well as signal proportional to mean value of pipeline wall thickness are registered. It ensures optimum work load of modification range of registered signal voltage allowing using half of supply voltage value for intended range of flaw depth modification.

EFFECT: acquisition of more detailed information concerning pipeline wall condition.
