FIELD: manufacturing technology.
SUBSTANCE: surface compactor is equipped with at least one compacting surface for compacting material layer, oscillation excitation system, which generates oscillations of vibration displacement or vibration forces, having a substantially rectangular shape and vibration of said at least compacting surface for increasing rate of compacting of material layer.
EFFECT: disclosed is a surface compactor and method for operation of such a device.
