SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a mechanical lift. Seat (1) of mechanical lift comprises frame (9) and safety handrail (14), configured to receive a first extreme lowered position, thus defining a closed space to prevent falling of passenger and a second extreme lifted position where safety handrail (14) frees space before seat (1), thus ensuring disembarkment of one or more passengers. Seat (1) also comprises means of fixing safety handrail (14) when in lowered position. Fixing means comprise first, fixed on frame (9), magnetic element (20) cooperating with second element (15) adapted for magnetisation to hold safety handrail (14) in a lowered position. Mechanical lift (2) comprises at least one said seat (1) of mechanical lift.
EFFECT: higher safety, simplified design of seat of mechanical lift and maintenance thereof.
