FIELD: optics; electricity.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electronic data media with non-volatile memory and method of short-range optical communication. To provide short-range optical communication between two optoelectronic devices primary radiation source is placed in first device, and second optoelectronic device is used in passive mode, in which it receives power as result of photovoltaic conversion of energy absorbed part of radiation of first device and responds to request of the first device by modulation of reflected part of radiation. Devices are brought into contact so that between active structure of first device, optical transceiver, and active structure of second device, target, light guide was formed, concentrating radiation in communication channel between devices. Target is presented by reversible optoelectronic device, which operates both as primary radiation receiver, and electrically controlled transmitter of secondary radiation.
EFFECT: simplifying design and high noise-immunity of data medium and devices for recording/reading information.
