Device for generation of improved downmix signal based on multichannel microphone signal includes spatial analyser configured to calculate number of spatial parameters of sound, including information on direction, describing direction of arrival of direct sound, direct sound power information and information on power of diffusive sound based on multichannel microphone signal. Device also includes filter calculator to calculate parameters of filter extension depending on information on direction, describing direction of arrival of direct sound, direct sound power information and information on power of diffusive sound. Device also includes filter to filter microphone signal or signal derived from microphone signal, using parameters of filter extension in order to obtain improved downmix signal.

EFFECT: technical result is generation of improved downmix signal.
