Formation of a transport representation contains combination of two more coefficient signals of the high order Ambisonics representation or the first order Ambisonics representation, or combination of two or more audio channels of the multichannel representation. Formation of transport metadata contains formation, as transport metadata, of information indicating how two or more coefficient signals of the high order Ambisonics representation or the first order Ambisonics representation or two or more audio channels of the multichannel representation were combined, or which of two or more coefficient signals of the first order Ambisonics representation or the high order Ambisonics representation, or which of two or more audio channels of the multichannel representation were combined.
EFFECT: provision of encoding spatial audio scenes with low bit rates and maximum accuracy of initial audio scene playback after transmission.
