SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a prebiotic composition containing oligosaccharides. Prebiotic composition for oral administration of people contains 2′-fucosyl lactose, 3′-sialyl lactose and 6′-sialyl lactose. Amount of 3′-sialyl lactose by weight is at least the same as the amount of 2′-fucosyl lactose. Also disclosed is a method of modulation or to stimulate growth of Bifidobacteria in human gastrointestinal tract, including introduction of the person of the above prebiotic composition. Composition may be a baby formula.
EFFECT: invention promotes healthy balance of bacteria in consumer intestine.
