FIELD: lighting; physics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to systems for effect on skin on basis of intense light pulses. Method of operating pulse lamp (2) in system (1) for effect on skin comprises steps of establishing a pathway between pulse lamp (2) and charged capacitor (4) causing free discharge in pulse lamp, and interruption of said conducting path to cutting off current through lamp, when current density falls below pre-determined threshold current density (Ix) or when energy supplied into skin reaches a certain maximum (EM).

EFFECT: reduced power consumption while maintaining efficiency of action on skin.
