SUBSTANCE: disclosed is an ice breaker comprising a circuit cooling its power plant and body with ice belt, also it includes heat pipes and heat pump containing filled with coolant circuit with series connected capacitor, control valve, evaporator and compressor, condenser with its inlet faces nose of ship and represents a set of flat boxes with heat shield on one of its planes, opposite to plane of which is connected with inner side to ship hull along its ice belt through embedded into heat pipes height of condenser corresponds to height of ice belt, length of condenser box corresponds to frame spacing of body, total length of condenser corresponds to length of ice belt, evaporator is made in form of heat exchanger with possibility of its switching on counterflow in cooling circuit of power plant.

EFFECT: high efficiency of ice-breaker ship during its operation in ice.
