FIELD: machine building.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a method for increasing resolution when forming a three-dimensional article through successive fusion of parts of a powder bed for producing a three-dimensional article. Method comprises providing a first powder layer on a work table inside a vacuum chamber, directing an electron beam from an electron gun over said work table. This causes powder layer to fuse in selected locations to form a first cross section of said three-dimensional article. Method then includes providing a second powder layer on work table and directing electron beam over said work table. This causes said second powder layer to fuse in selected locations to form a second cross section of said three-dimensional article. Method then includes reducing pressure in vacuum chamber from a first pressure level to a second pressure level between providing of said first powder layer and said second powder layer.

EFFECT: technical result achieved when using disclosed method for production of three-dimensional article consists in providing high resolution of sequence of operations of additive production process by maintaining electric field distribution in powder material so as to prevent formation of free floating particles.
