SUBSTANCE: disclosed is plant for combining stepwise laid groups of mail units, in which first conveyance system receives at its inlet stepwise laid groups of mail units and has outlet communicated with inlet of second transfer system, which moves mail to outlet, interconnected with end consumer. Input of second transfer system is located at smaller height than the output of first transfer system to obtain incidence area with preset height “h” and connects first conveyance system with second conveying system, at that there is electronic unit, which controls movement of at least adjacent end parts of first and second transfer systems near region of incidence, to provide situation in which front side of the stepwise laid group transported by first conveying system, at least partially covers rear side of stepwise laid group transported by second conveying system due to approach and combination of two stepwise laid groups on relationship.
EFFECT: transportation of mail items.
