FIELD: jewelery industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to jewelery industry, namely, to apparatus for sorting precious stones and methods of operation thereof. Disclosed apparatus for sorting precious stones from batch of precious stones comprises one or more measurement points, conveyor comprising a plurality of discrete branches for placing precious stones, a feeding device configured to feed individual precious stones from a batch of precious stones to individual conveyor sections, and controller configured to synchronize conveyor speed with operation of one or more measurement points so that gemstone measurements can be correlated with positions of said stones in associated compartments. Disclosed also is a method of sorting precious stones from batch of precious stones.
EFFECT: higher quality and accuracy of precious stones sorting.
