FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention aims at predicting clinical outcome in patients with metastatic kidney cancer. Morphological and immunohistochemical analysis of operational material is carried out. Expression transcription factor HIF-1α and content of vascular endothelial growth factor VEGF are determined. At level of HIF-1α more than 6.35 CU/mg of protein in well and VEGF more 32 pg/mg of protein a favourable outcome of disease is predicted, while level of HIF-1α less than 6.35 CU/mg of protein in well and VEGF less than 32 pg/mg of protein, an unfavourable outcome of disease is predicted.

EFFECT: method enables to determine expected prognosis in patients with metastatic kidney cancer with intermediate prediction at MSKCC criteria, and in case of disease progression allows changing therapeutic approach.
