FIELD: information technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to means of processing of luggage. In an airport baggage handling system bag information, flight information and airport topology information are provided to a central processor which determines a path for bag through handling system. Bag is scanned at various points along path and scan time is compared with a predetermined arrival time for bag at scan point. Bag is marked at risk if it arrives at a scan point after predetermined time and system may suggest an alternative handling path for bag if it is determined that risk of bag not making an outbound flight is too high.
EFFECT: technical result is faster processing data on luggage.
