FIELD: agriculture.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to convective drying particulates, such as grain, for example, in a dense layer, and can be used in agriculture and other industries. Method allows an efficient distribution of gas and heat flows from top to bottom of drying chamber 4 according to the change of cereal layer state variables, which is achieved by forming a grain layer with a continuously variable value of purged thickness increasing nonlinearly during the movement of grain. Dryer comprises bulk material loading device 2 and discharge device 3, drying chamber 4 formed by two opposite perforated vertical walls 5 and 6, the first of which - wall 5, through inlet chamber 7 and air duct 8 is connected with heat generator 9, while the second of which - wall 6 is made (from the top to the bottom of the drying chamber) of a non-linear vertical cross-sectional profile and positioned so that between the first and second walls there is formed a longitudinal channel (drying chamber) with a continuously variable cross-section nonlinearly increasing along the grain movement route. For flexible adjustment, the drying chamber can be constructed in a modular fashion with a non-limited number of modules 13.

EFFECT: invention makes it possible to increase the drying intensity, equipment performance and scope of application.
