FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing 1,3-diamino-2-hydroxypropane-N,N′-dimethylphosphonic-N,N′-diacetic acid, which can be used as mineral salt deposit inhibitor in water systems of industrial enterprises, large and small enterprises in power industry and public utilities. Method involves obtaining 1,3-diamino-2-hydroxypropane-N,N′-dimethylphosphonic-N,N′-diacetic acid through synthesis of an intermediate product - 1,3-diamino-2-hydroxypropane-N,N′-diacetic acid via carboxymethylation of 1,3-diamino-2-propanol, followed by methylphosphorylation of said acid with formaldehyde and phosphorous acid, wherein carboxymethylation is carried out with a calcium salt of monochloroacetic acid in molar ratio of monochloroacetic acid to 1,3-diamino-2-propanol of 2.0-2.2:1.0 in presence of calcium oxide at pH 9-11 and 60-65 °C with subsequent extraction of 1,3-diamino-2-hydroxypropane-N,N′-diacetic acid in form of dihydrochloride, further, performing methylphosphorylation by treatment with formaldehyde and phosphorous acid in molar ratio of 1,3-diamino-2-hydroxypropane-N,N′-diacetic acid to formaldehyde and phosphorous acid 1:2-2.1:2-2.1 and end product precipitation by addition of methanol to evaporated reaction mixture.
EFFECT: novel efficient method of producing a valuable chemical compound.
