FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: method consists in interaction between epichlorhydrine and disubstituted ammonia derivative containing secondary amine group with subsequent isolation of the target product. The method is characterized by the fact that iminodiacetic acid dimethyl ester is used as desaturated ammonia derivative and reaction of interaction between epichlorhydrine and iminodiacetic acid dimethyl ester is carried out using 10% epichlorhydrine excess of its stoichiometric quantity and runs in aqueous-dioxane solution with mixing at room temperature with subsequent holding of the reaction mass at room temperature, filtration, washing of filtered amino-2-hydroxy-3-chlorpropane-N,N-diacetic acid with ethylacetate and its drying.

EFFECT: method allows to produce a pure product in the form of crystalline substance not containing inorganic impurities.
