FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for producing a flat rolled product from high-strength low alloy steel containing 0.15-0.35 wt.% copper. Method comprises casting a strip on a casting installation followed by solidification and continuous or semi-continuous rolling to final thickness of rolled product. A strip with a maximum thickness of 130 mm is cast on casting installation. Casting speed is at least 4.5 m/min. Said strip is rolled in less than 5.8 min. After rolling, said strip is cooled at a rate of 15-90 K/s to a temperature below 650 °C.
EFFECT: technical result is reduced formation of a second viscosity minimum of steel.
